2: Area athletes named to Prep Volleyball’s Senior Aces, which recognizes the nation’s top 250 high school players in the Class of 2019. Clark’s Kara McGhee, a 6-foot-3 middle hitter and Baylor commit, is ranked No. 6 and Churchill’s Caroline Meuth, a 6-foot outside hitter pledged to Notre Dame, is No. 59. They are the only area players to make the list.

100: Career wins for Marshall volleyball coach Danielle Nichols, who reached the milestone during the Rams’ triumph over Fox Tech Aug. 25 at the Seguin tournament.

300: Wins for Brandeis volleyball coach Maddie Williams during her 11-year tenure at the school. She reached the mark with the Broncos’ victory over Cy Fair Aug. 24 at Smithson Valley’s Texas Showdown.

400: Career wins for Medina Valley volleyball coach Deesa Griggs, who accomplished the feat with the Panthers’ victory over New Braunfels Christian Aug. 25 at the Saint Mary’s Hall tournament.

450: Wins for Antonian volleyball coach Samantha McLure, who reached the plateau with the Apaches’ win Aug. 24 over East Central at the Texas Showdown. Later the same day, McLure recorded her 400th win as Antonian coach when her team defeated Boerne Champion.

750: Career wins for Poth volleyball coach Patti Zenner, who recorded the milestone during the Pirettes’ victory Aug. 24 against Judson at the Texas Showdown.
