Woman hurt while buckling child in car seat

RUBICON -- A 67-year-old Rubicon woman was severely injured when her own car rolled over her Wednesday night.

According to Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received the call at 8:59 p.m. Wednesday that the woman was run over by her own vehicle at N4131 County Highway P, Rubicon.

A preliminary investigation revealed the woman was attempting to secure a child in a child safety seat in the rear driver’s side seat. The vehicle had accidentally been left in neutral and began rolling backwards.

The woman attempted to stop the vehicle, but was pushed over and the vehicle rolled over her causing serious injuries to her upper body.

Due to the nature of the injuries she was transported by Flight For Life to Summit Aurora.

The incident happened on private property and neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
