Dunkin’ offering free coffee to Nebraska Community Blood Bank donors in January

December 27, 2018

Dunkin’ is offering a free refuel — in the form of a free coffee — to those who give blood to the Nebraska Community Blood Bank during January.

The blood center is partnering with 19 Dunkin’ locations throughout eastern Nebraska to increase awareness about the need for blood donation during the winter, which traditionally is a challenging time to meet the need. January is National Blood Donor Month.

Every donor will receive a coupon when they donate at the blood bank’s blood drives or donor centers during January. Donors can redeem them at Dunkin’ for a free hot or iced coffee of any size. Participating locations include Omaha, Gretna, Hastings, Kearney, Papillion, La Vista, Lincoln and North Platte in Nebraska and Council Bluffs in Iowa. The coupons expire Feb. 28.

The blood bank also is giving long-sleeved shirts to those who donate between now and Jan. 5.

The American Red Cross also is taking steps to encourage donations. The organization is giving long-sleeved shirts to donors who give blood at any blood drive or donor center through Jan. 6.

To register for a Nebraska Community Blood Bank blood drive, schedule online using the sponsor code for that drive or call NCBB at 1-877-486-9414. Walk-in donors are welcome, but appointments are encouraged. Visit ncbb.org/dunkin for more details.
