Pat Green-owned music, food and drink complex The Rustic coming to S.A. in The Rim
The well-known mega-size food, drink and entertainment complex The Rustic in Dallas is bringing its concept to San Antonio.
Owners Kyle Noonan, Josh Sepkowitz and well-known Texas musician Pat Green are spearheading the move into South Texas with a massive 28,000-square-foot facility that is expected to open in mid-September at 17619 La Cantera Pkwy. in The Rim. The facility will be a really close copy of the Dallas location.
Live music, Texas-themed food with a touch of Mexican influence and lots of booze is expected flow throughout the facility. The Dallas location, which opened in October 2013, is one of the top sellers of alcohol in North Texas, with annual sales in excess of $6 million, according to the Dallas Morning News. The bar features more than 40 beers on tap, including 35 Texas-made craft beers, as well as locally made wines and spirits.

Pat’s Backyard is the name for the outdoor music venue, which hosts both free and ticketed feature music acts in the spacious area. The San Antonio outdoor space won’t be quite as large as the Dallas operation, but according to company officials, it will still be able to handle to put on a big-time party. It will have live music seven days a week, just like in Dallas.
The food menu has most of those Texas favorites such as brisket, giant steaks, Bandera quail, massive portions of onion rings and customers can even grab a slice of peanut butter pie. And there will be brunch, on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

The Rustic also serves up a “Sunday Supper,” from 2 p.m. until close where customers can choose either a half chicken that is either fried with a hand-crusted batter or grilled with an ancho chile and brown sugar rub. Or a double cut wood grilled pork chop. Meals come with unlimited side options that includes a house salad, mashed potatoes, spoon bread, white hominy and seasonal vegetables.
“Our Texas-inspired menu will highlight all of Texas’ best cuisines, beers and liquors,” Noonan, co-founder of FreeRange Concepts, said in a news release. “And our guests can enjoy them all along with live music seven days a week. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the San Antonio community.”

The first official glimpse of The Rustic will be Wednesday afternoon when its sign goes up.
The Rustic is tentatively planning an exclusive VIP opening party Sept. 28, where the Southern fare, specialty cocktails and Texas beer labels will be introduced. A “surprise guest musical appearance” is being touted, and it wouldn’t be a shocker if Green himself takes to the stage. The event is invitation only, but San Antonio residents can follow The Rustic San Antonio on Facebook and Instagram for a chance to win tickets to the event.
