May 30, 1993: Copies of a standardized test used to judge the skills of school children nationally were released to teachers at El Dorado Elementary School and perhaps other local schools weeks before the exam date — an apparent breach of test security.
The practice sparked a letter of protest from El Dorado’s three third-grade teachers, who said they believed it was inappropriate that principal Gloria Rendon released copies of the Iowa Test of Basic Skills to them Feb. 26, almost a month before the test date.
