Jack Frost 5K starts new year on healthy foot

January 2, 2019

HUNTINGTON — Runners began a potentially healthier new year on the right foot as the Marshall University Marathon hosted its New Year’s Day Jack Frost 5K on Tuesday morning at Ritter Park in Huntington.

The f lat and fast course through the park finished off with a toast of nonalcoholic grape juice to ring in the new year with a touch of traditional drink. Participants were also encouraged to bring nonperishable food items to benefit the New Baptist Church food pantry.

The run was organized by Healthy Tri-State, which hosts several local runs throughout the year, including the Marshall University Marathon, to promote good health in the Tri-State.
