Watertown Legion shuts out Stoughton 12-0

Lucas Schramm and Ben Rothweiler each had two hits for Watertown’s American Legion baseball team in a 12-0 win over Stoughton on Tuesday at Washington Park.

Rothweiler had three RBIs. Jon Lehman, Brett Faltersack and Trevor Tietz each added two RBIs

Ryan Hayden went 3 1/3 innings to earn the decision, allowing no runs on one hit with nine strikeouts and no walks. Samuel Letts pitched the final 1 2/3 innings in relief, allowing no runs or hits while striking out five and walking none.

Watertown travels to Wildwood Baseball Park for a tournament in Sheboygan today and Saturday.

JACKSON — Watertown opened the season with a 5-4 loss to Jackson in the season opener on Monday.

Jackson erased an early 1-0 deficit with two runs in the fouerth and three in the fifth and held on late for a one-run victory.

Trevor Tietz started the game for Watertown and threw three scoreless innings, allowing two hits with six strikeouts and no walks. Lucas Schramm threw 1 2/3 innings in relief and took the loss, allowing five earned runs on three this with three strikeouts and two walks. Blake Klemke pitched the final 1 1/3 innings, allowing no runs on two hits with no strikeouts and three walks.

Caleb Martin got the win, allowing three earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and five walks over 5 2/3 innings. Jared Metz earned the save, allowing one earned run on three hits with two strikeouts and no walks over the final 1 1/3 innings.

Ben Rothweiler was 3-for-3 at the plate, while Jonathan Lehman added two of the team’s nine hits. Tietz, Alex Lapp and Samuel Letts each drove in a run.
