Scotts Bluff County pulls out of economic development group
GERING — The Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners have pulled the county out of Western Nebraska Economic Development.
Mark Masterton, the chairman of the board of commissioners, said on Monday that the board decided to pull out of WNED as a resulf of concerns about the lack of progress by the group. He also pointed out that the county was already part of Twin Cities Development.
“We feel that Twin Cities Development is our economic development arm and they’ve done a good job for us so far,” he said. “(WNED) was doubling up on something we’d already got in place and working.”
Masterton added that the county was free to leave the group at any time without a penalty.
