FWCS to retain high-school honors courses
Fort Wayne Community Schools will keep its high-school honors courses, district officials said Friday.
The move comes after an emotionally charged meeting Monday in which students, alumni and parents urged FWCS not to drop the classes. The district had proposed ending honors courses as they are today as part of a curriculum overhaul.
A statement from the district Friday afternoon said officials “will evaluate all honors curriculum for consistency across different courses and schools, as well as criteria for enrollment in honors courses.”
