Human Remains In Shed Were Male, DA Says
PLAINS TWP. — The human remains found in a shed fire at a Plains Twp. trailer park on Saturday are those of a male, and not a female as authorities originally reported, according to Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis.
Firefighters discovered the remains after extinguishing a fire in a shed-like structure at 232 Pocono Trailer Park, in the East Mountain Ridge Mobile Home Park off Jumper Road, at about 5 a.m. Saturday, according to police.
Authorities on Monday said the remains were likely those of a woman between her late teens and 30 years old. Upon further investigation, it was determined the remains were of a male, Salavantis said Wednesday. State police, Plains Twp. police, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office and the county coroner’s office are investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-697-2000.
