Bodies of man, daughter pulled from pond after pickup crash
FAIRFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Police in Ohio say the bodies of a man and his 6-year-old daughter were pulled from a pond at an apartment complex after a pickup truck crashed into it.
The Butler County Coroner’s Office ruled Tuesday that 35-year-old Morance Harrison and 6-year-old Nena Harrison, both of Cincinnati, died of accidental drowning. Fairfield police say the pickup crashed into the pond at the Villages of Wildwood Complex around 7:30 p.m. Monday.
Authorities say a passerby rescued Harrison’s 4-year-old son from the water. He was treated at the scene and released to his mother.
Officers say the pickup was empty when it was removed from the pond. The bodies of the father and daughter were recovered from the water a short time later.
Investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash.
