Guilford man takes home $1.5M on $20 lottery ticket
A Guilford man is the newest member of the Connecticut Millionaires Club after winning the top prize in a scratch ticket game.
Victor Kenter bought the winning $20 scratch ticket at Express Fuels & Food Mart at 25 Mill Plain Road in Danbury.
He cashed in his ticket on April 16 at CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill.
The top prize in the Connecticut Millionaires Club game is $20 million.
But Kenter chose to take a lump sum payment of $1.5 million, according to CT Lottery.
The instant game that began on Sept. 25, 2017 has five grand prizes, one that remains unclaimed.
CT Lottery says the game is is ending “soon,” but did not disclose a date.
There are approximately 4,560,000 tickets in the game.
Unlike other big winners, Kenter declined to be interviewed of have his photo taken as part of CT Lottery’s Winners Stories.
In February, CT Lottery listed a Victor Kenter, of Guilford, as the winner of a $10,000 prize on 20X Cash ticket sold at Express Fuels & Food Mart in Danbury.
It could not be confirmed if it’s the same Victor Kenter, who won the Connecticut Millionaires Club prize.
CT Lottery only discloses the winner’s name and place of residence, date of claim, game played, prize amount won, and the selling retailer’s name and location. A winner’s home or street address and phone number is never published, and will not be disclosed unless required by law.
