TDS Broadband Service is buying a Utah company, InterLinx Communications, and InterLinx’s subsidiary, Tonaquint Networks.
Terms of the agreement are not being disclosed. The acquisition still needs approval from federal and local regulators.
TDS Broadband is operated by Madison-based TDS Telecommunications Corp., a subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, a publicly traded company in Chicago.
TDS Telecom says it is the seventh largest local exchange telephone company in the U.S. and provides 1.2 million connections to high-speed internet, phone and TV services.
