Tomball ISD readies for safety upgrades, construction projects
Tomball ISD will move forward with safety upgrades and agreements for upcoming construction projects.
The board approved safety and security upgrades at Tomball High School and Tomball Memorial High School.
“This will be for total school safety,” said superintendent Martha Salazar-Zamora.
The amounts approved were $120,761 for Tomball High School and $139,290 for Tomball Memorial High School.
Both campuses will have new electronic access controls installed on the exterior doors by Custom Access and Integration, LLC as part of the 2013 bond.
The board is also moving forward on projects as part of the $275 million bond approved in 2017.
A commissioning agreement with EAB Engineering Air Balance Co., Inc. for the new natatorium at Tomball Memorial High School and its heating and cooling system was approved for $42,965.

The board also approved a similar agreement with EMA Engineering & Consulting, Inc. for commissioning at the new stadium, elementary and junior high schools it plans to build on the same location along the Grand Parkway and Cypress Rosehill Road.
The agreement would be for a total of $143,400 for EMA Engineering & Consulting to verify that all buildings’ construction is ready.
The breakdown for the three sites for would be $45,900 for the new elementary school, $78,250 for the new junior high school and $19,250 for the new stadium.

As part of the construction of the new stadium and two new schools, the board also approved two easements bordering on the property.
One access easement would be for neighboring landowners along the southern part of the tract while the other would be a temporary easement for a new southern road.
