Police look into alleged sex assaults at Connecticut school

August 27, 2018

NORWICH, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut police say they’re investigating allegations that a former employee of an independent school sexually assaulted students.

Norwich police announced over the weekend that the department began its investigation into a former employee at Norwich Free Academy in June.

Police are “actively investigating the facts surrounding the allegations as well as how the information was discovered and reported.”

No names were released.

School Superintendent David Klein said the investigation involves “a former employee’s alleged inappropriate conduct.” Klein says the school is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Norwich Free Academy was founded in 1854 and is one of New England’s last privately governed, independently endowed academies. It serves as a high school for Norwich and several surrounding communities.
