Voting for Aiken’s Choice Top Docs medical categories begins Nov. 1
Medical practices in Aiken will now have their very own Aiken’s Choice event.
Medical categories previously featured in the Aiken Standard’s annual Aiken’s Choice business contest will now be exclusively featured in Aiken’s Choice Top Docs 2019. The contest begins Thursday, Nov. 1.
Aiken Standard staff decided to split Aiken’s Choice due to the increasing size of the event.
During the 2018 awards, medical categories alone received over 26,000 votes, said Aiken Standard Advertising Manager Lindsey McCullough.
“We’re just really excited that Aiken’s Choice has become so popular that we’re able to have Top Docs,” McCullough said.
Top Docs will feature 40 categories for local medical businesses. This includes the categories from the 2018 event with some new additions for 2019.
The majority of the nominating and voting process for Top Docs will take place online, but there will be a print ballot option provided in the Aiken Standard.
Nominations will begin online Nov. 1 and will last until Nov. 30. The top five nominees in each of the 40 categories will move on to the voting phase, which will begin Dec. 5 and end Dec. 31.
A print nomination ballot will run in the Aiken Standard and the North Augusta Star on Nov. 7, and a voting ballot will run in both newspapers on Dec. 5.
The winner of each category, along with two finalists, will be recognized at a celebration ceremony in January after voting ends.
