Ex-Pitt star Artis signs deal with Sacramento Kings
Jamel Artis got some time toward the end of the 2017-18 season with the Orlando Magic, and he’ll try to catch on with another franchise for the start of the next campaign.
The former Pitt star signed a two-year deal Tuesday with the Sacramento Kings, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
An undrafted free agent in 2017, Artis played 15 games with the Magic last season, averaging 5.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 18.6 minutes per game.
Wojnarowski reported that Artis will compete in training camp for a spot on the Kings’ roster.
The 6-foot-7 Artis, a native of Baltimore, Md., scored 1,696 points in his four-year Pitt career, earning All-ACC third-team honors as a sophomore and honorable mention honors as a senior.
