The Fosters find home at The Tower at The Buckingham

October 19, 2018

Nearly three years ago, Harriet and Joe Foster started to receive information on The Tower at The Buckingham, the 11-story centerpiece of the community’s $72 million community expansion. At the time they lived in a large house, but weren’t using much of it.

“We were tired of the upkeep,” said Harriet. “We already had several friends who moved to The Buckingham and everyone really seemed to love it here. We were ready to downsize by the time construction was done.”

Last November, the Fosters transitioned into their fifth-floor apartment in The Tower. With 14 floor plans to choose from, they selected the Winchester Tower Classic — a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, corner apartment.

Their layout blends traditional living room, dining room and kitchen space. This large, open area is illuminated with an abundance of natural light — ideal for cocktail parties with the neighbors or afternoons with the grandkids.

Adjacent to this central space is the master suite, complete with a large bathroom and generous walk-in closet; a second bedroom, which the Fosters have turned into a study; a laundry area; and a second full bathroom. Just off the kitchen is one of Harriet’s favorite spots, a private terrace.

“We look out just above tree level,” she said. “We love to sit out on the terrace and watch the thunderstorms come through.”

The Fosters take full advantage of The Tower’s other features, including underground parking, the new fitness center and upscale dining at The Rosewood Grill. For them, it was the right move at the right time.

“We wanted to do this our way, before something happened, and our children were forced to make the decision for us,” Harriet said. “We see more and more couples doing this — I’d certainly recommend it.”
