UML’s Return Strong
BURLINGTON, Vt. -- The UMass Lowell hockey team earned a 5-2 victory against Harvard on Friday night in the opening game of the Catamount Cup on the campus of the University of Vermont.

The River Hawks came back from their three-week hiatus to improve to 10-8 overall, while the Crimson fell to 4-6-1.
Sophomore forward Kenny Hausinger scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season to increase UMass Lowell’s lead to 4-2 with 11:49 left in the contest. Senior forward John Edwardh scored an empty-netter with 1:08 left to seal the win.
Earlier, senior captain Tyler Mueller gave the River Hawks a 2-1 lead with his third of the season in the second period. Ryan Dmowski then scored his fifth goal of season from his knees.
Ryan Donato had scored the first goal of the game for Harvard just 32 seconds into the contest, but River Hawk junio Nick Master tied the game at 1-1 just three minutes later for the River Hawks.
Junior goaltender Christoffer Hernberg made 24 saves in his 10th win of the season.
The River Hawks return to action here on Saturday against ECAC foe St. Lawrence. Game time is 4 p.m.
