LETTER: ‘We should all be praying’
Can we all cooperate to make our country safer? We may need more security in our schools, including armed people. I believe in our Second Amendment rights, I have owned guns for may years and still do. But to be reasonable, does anyone really need an assault rifle? Shouldn’t they belong in the military and police? There are people in this country who should not have guns. Maybe some better background checking would help.
However, I am afraid the key to our problem lies much deeper. We have taken God and prayer out of our public schools, we have allowed our babies to be aborted, we have all kinds of violence in our entertainment (videos, games, etc.).
Maybe our country needs another Billy Graham. We should all be praying. - Gary Riphagen, Doon, Iowa
