Delegation promotes Affordable Care Act enrollment
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Members of New Hampshire’s Democratic congressional delegation are urging residents to carefully consider their health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act.
The open enrollment period for the Obama-era health overhaul law ends Dec. 15. The same three companies that offered plans this year are offering plans for 2019: Anthem, Harvard Pilgrim and Ambetter.
U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan and U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter joined health care providers and advocates at the Manchester Community Center to kickoff the enrollment period this week. They urged residents to visit healthcare.gov to shop for plans and compare options. They also criticized the Trump administration for drastically cutting the length of enrollment and funding for advertising and staffing to help people sign up.
