Man gets 20-to-life for Reno-area sex assault with kids home
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A prosecutor says a 28-year-old man is going to prison for at least 20 years for tying up, threatening and sexually assaulting a Reno-area woman while her young children cried in the next room.
Washoe County District Attorney Chris Hicks announced Monday that Christopher Alan Cagle was sentenced April 22 to two consecutive life sentences for his guilty plea in January to two sex assault charges
Cagle’s attorney, Thomas Viloria, called the attack an “aberration” involving his client and his estranged wife and said Cagle accepted responsibility with his plea.
Hicks says Cagle wore a mask and knew the children would be home when he broke in and attacked the woman in October 2017 in the community of Stead.
Hicks says Cagle threatened to harm the woman if she didn’t quiet the children.
