Congressman Fortenberry optimistic about Trump presidency
WASHINGTON , D.C. - Nebraska’s 1st District Congressman Jeff Fortenberry describes the post-election mood in Washington in two words: curiosity and urgency.
“Now we have a possibility of considering economic, government, political systems,” said Fortenberry.
“This whole idea now has to take real form and real time with real urgency.”
Fortenberry says Washington missed the depth of anguish and the demand for change throughout America.
He says it is time for the government to transform and for the nation to reconsider where we are as a people.
Fortenberry says he expects a better relationship between the Republican-led Congress and President-elect Trump, primarily because Vice-President Elect Mike Pence has numerous friends on Capitol Hill.
