UNC’s Nassir Little listed as ‘questionable’ for Sweet Sixteen game against Auburn
Carolina freshman Nassir Little was listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup against Auburn in the Sweet Sixteen because he has come down with flu-like symptoms, the team announced Thursday.
Roy Williams made the announcement during his session Thursday with reporters.
“I don’t foresee making a decision until game time, but if he’s like he is now, there’s no way he can play,” he said. “I didn’t even bring him over here to the arena with us.”
Williams said Little would be unavailable to speak to reporters in advance of the game because of his illness.
Little has become an asset to the team as it tries to advance past the Auburn Tigers.
The 6-foot-6 freshman was held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday and could be a game-time decision.
Little had 19 points in a first-round win over Iona. He scored 20 against the Huskies.
During an interview with reporters last week, Little reflected on his performance
“I want to win,” that was the resounding message from UNC forward Nassir Little, who scored 39 points in just 38 minutes this weekend in wins over Iona and Washington.
