Venezuela earns 2-2 draw with Japan in friendly
YOKOHAMA, Japan (AP) — Gabriel Cichero scored in the 71st minute as Venezuela earned a 2-2 draw with Japan in a friendly after a scoreless first half on Tuesday.
Yoshinori Muto gave Japan a 1-0 lead in the 51st, and Mario Rondon equalized nine minutes later from the penalty spot after Hiroki Mizumoto was booked for a foul on Alejandro Guerra.
Gaku Shibasaki put Japan back ahead in the 66th, only for Cichero to equalize with a long-range effort, and deny Javier Aguirre his first win as coach of Japan.
Aguirre, who replaced Alberto Zaccheroni, made five changes to the side that lost to Uruguay 2-0 on Friday.
