NEWCASTLE, England (AP) — Papiss Cisse dragged Newcastle nine points clear of the Premier League relegation zone by scoring in stoppage time to clinch a 2-1 victory over Stoke on Sunday.

Jonathan Walters had given Stoke the lead against the run of play from the penalty spot in the 67th minute, but Yohan Cabaye equalized six minutes later from a free kick before Cisse's late winner.

Newcastle rose to 13th place, level on points with Stoke in 11th.
