Shelby girl hit by vehicle after darting out in front of it
A 15-year-old Shelby girl suffered injuries to her face and mouth after she ran in front of a vehicle near Shelby High School at 7:35 a.m. this morning.
According to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office crash report, a 27-year-old Shelby woman was driving her 2004 Black Jeep Grand east bound on Sixth Street in front of the high school when the girl “darted” in front of the Jeep and was hit.
The Shelby woman as well as a nearby school bus driver claimed that ”(The girl) had darted out in front of (the woman’s) vehicle and was unable to avoid a collision with (the girl).”
The girl was transported to Lakeshore Hospital Shelby Campus for treatment of her injuries.
