San Antonio Rampage have home winning streak snapped in final second
The Stockton Heat scored with .7 seconds remaining in overtime to snap the San Antonio Rampage’s 12-match home winning streak 4-3 on Saturday at the AT&T Center.
The Rampage lost at home for the first time since Nov. 25, falling to 22-21-2 overall. The Heat are 18-20-5.
Kerby Rychel scored the winner for Stockton.
The game went to overtime after a flurry of third-period goals. With the match level at 1 entering the final period, Ryan Olsen scored to put the Rampage ahead. After Stockton’s Andrew Mangiapane tied the game with less than six minutes to play, Samuel Blais pushed the Rampage in front with about 2 1/2 minutes remaining. But Stockton again had the answer, this time from Buddy Robinson with 1 minute, 14 seconds to play.
Rychel and San Antonio’s Jordan Kyrou scored during the second period.
Rampage goalie Jared Coreau made 27 saves against 31 shots.
San Antonio next hosts the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday, marking the Rampage’s final home game until March 1.
