Patterson Grove Campmeeting Celebrates 150th Anniversary
Patterson Grove Campmeeting Association, 1128 Bethel Hill Road, Shickshinny, invites the public to help celebrate its 150th Campmeeting now through Aug. 5. Special activities and services are planned and five different evangelists will preach during the two week period. Events, in addition to the regular services, Bible studies, and children and youth programs, are a Victorian Tea and celebration of “Christmas” on Wednesday, July 25; displays of quilts, Nativity sets, and old pictures and mementoes at the Heritage Cottage; a teen pizza party and concert on Friday, July 27; a beard contest on Saturday, July 28; memories of the Grove on Sunday, July 29; a children’s parade and program on Tuesday, July 31; celebration of “Easter” on Wednesday, Aug. 1; a time capsule on Friday, Aug. 3; the Golden Scoop Ice Cream Festival on Saturday, Aug. 4; and an Entire Bible Proclamation in under two hours on Sunday, Aug. 5. The Campmeeting will close with the Rev. Jay Saxe bringing the final message at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, and ending with the traditional “March to Zion.” The public is invited to all services and events.
