Take a trip with RocktheLake to Grand River Valley wineries, prepping for Ice Wine Festival

GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio -- Get excited for the Grand River Valley’s 14th annual Ice Wine Festival. And learn why Lake Erie creates the perfect climate for growing grapes, especially for ice wine.

RocktheLake is heading out to Grand River Cellars, Debonne Vineyards, South River Winery and Red Eagle Distillery around Geneva-on-the-Lake today. Follow us on Facebook as we go live throughout the day.

The festival takes place Saturdays, March 3, 10 and 17, from noon to 5 p.m.

Wineries participating include: Debonné Vineyards, Ferrante Winery & Ristorante, Grand River Cellars Winery and Restaurant, Laurello Vineyards, & St. Joseph Vineyards.

Visit each of the participating wineries, sample ice wine and enjoy an appetizer, included in the $6 cost at each winery. Many of the wineries will also have a featured event, such as ice carving, jewelry shows and dog sledding. Weather permitting, of course.

Bring a canned food item to help support local food banks and receive $1 off per person. Call 440-466-3485 for more information.

There are several transportation services available to shuttle you from winery to winery.
