AAUW will present the Woman of Merit Award

The Watertown branch of the American Association of University Women will present its annual Woman of Merit Award at a dinner at Johnson Creek High School Thursday, March 14.

The award is given annually to an area woman who has made exceptional contributions to her community, family, church and/or career. The award was initiated in 1983 and to date has honored 47 women. Last year’s award winners were Shirley Crouch and Carleen Schloemer.

At 6 p.m. a five-course dinner will be prepared and served by students of the professional foods class under the direction of Sandy Winter to honor the recipient and her family. The presentation of the Woman of Merit Award will follow. Community members interested in attending can make a reservation by emailing Chris Maas at jcmaas1@gmail.com before Thursday. Cost of the dinner is $23.
