Two drivers hurt in Red Wing crash

RED WING — A collision sent the drivers of two vehicles to the hospital Sunday afternoon in Red Wing.

Beverly Jo Simmons, 74, of Blaine, was westbound at about 12:10 p.m. on Old Main Street and attempted a left-hand turn to head south on U.S. Highway 61 when her vehicle was struck by a northbound SUV driven by Travis Lee Kleen, 37, of Red Wing, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol.

Both Simmons and Kleen were transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Red Wing with non-life threatening injuries. No updates were available on their conditions.

The Red Wing Police Department also responded to the scene.
