Former Wake sheriff’s deputy charged with assault
A former Wake County sheriff’s deputy was arrested Tuesday and charged with assault inflicting serious injury, according to court documents.
David Joshua Chamblee, 36, of 801 Elbridge Drive in Raleigh, left the sheriff’s office last week, according to an acquaintance.
Chamblee pushed a woman off a bed in August, causing her to hit her head on a nightstand, according to an arrest warrant. The woman needed four staples on the laceration, the warrant states.
He was expected to make a first appearance in court on Tuesday afternoon.
