August 27, 2013

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a Shorewood woman with killing her boyfriend and storing his body in a freezer.

Twenty-nine-year-old Jetaun Helen Wheeler was charged Monday with second-degree murder.

According to the complaint, the victim’s brother contacted police to report a missing person on Aug. 13. The man was supposed to travel to his family’s home in Chicago but never arrived.

The victim’s friends told police he had been having domestic troubles with Wheeler. When police searched the house she shared with the victim, they found a freezer behind two mattresses in the garage. In the freezer was a man’s frozen body.

Authorities have not released the name of the 58-year-old victim.

Wheeler is in custody. Minnesota Public Radio (http://bit.ly/17i5IiF ) reports authorities want to speak to her children, whose whereabouts are unknown.
