CSU Bakersfield beats San Diego Christian 96-54
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Shon Briggs had 21 points and nine rebounds and Cal State Bakersfield opened the season with a 96-54 win over NAIA San Diego Christian on Saturday night.
CSU Bakersfield never trailed after scoring the first nine points, led by 14 at the half and closed on a 22-5 run. The Roadrunners were 9 of 15 from 3-point range and 64.4 percent overall from the field.
Damiyne Durham added 20 points with 6-of-10 3-point shooting, Jaylin Airington scored 15 and Dedrick Basile scored 11 for the Roadrunners.
Isaiah Milan had 15 points to lead the Hawks. Nathan Klekas and Derek Novsek added 10 points.
The Roadrunners had a 38-15 edge in rebounding and held San Diego Christian to 34.1 percent shooting.
