AllScripts: 4Q Earnings Snapshot

CHICAGO (AP) _ Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc. (MDRX) on Monday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $19 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Chicago-based company said it had a loss of 12 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 17 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 18 cents per share.

The electronic health records company posted revenue of $451 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $451.5 million, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $458.4 million.

For the year, the company reported a loss of $182.2 million, or $1.10 per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.77 billion.

AllScripts expects full-year earnings in the range of 70 cents to 75 cents per share.

AllScripts shares have declined 19% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $7.94, a drop of 26% in the last 12 months.
