Fantasy Focus: Who to play, bench this week
Who to play, who to bench in your lineup this week:
Raiders QB Derek Carr vs. Colts — Has put up monster numbers at home and Indy’s secondary has enough holes that his receivers will be very open.
Patriots WR Julian Edelman vs. Jets — Went for eight receptions and 83 yards last time out against New York and should find even more success this week. Great PPR option.
Patriots RB LeGarrette Blount vs. Jets — In the last three games, New York has allowed an average of 151 yards per game on the ground.
Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin vs. Cardinals — On the surface this looks like a bad matchup, but Arizona has been susceptible to the pass in the last few weeks. Sneaky flex or daily play.
Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate at Saints — Brate was quiet in his Week 14 game against New Orleans, but given the state of the tight end spot, this is a good option. Duds
Jets WR Brandon Marshall at Patriots — Hasn’t been in sync with quarterback Bryce Petty at all and the Patriots secondary has been playing extremely well.
Ravens WR Steve Smith at Steelers — Pittsburgh’s secondary has been tough for receivers on the fantasy field this season and Smith historically struggles against this unit.
Rams RB Todd Gurley vs. 49ers — Unbelievably great matchup, but there is just no confidence left in the LA back. Start if you feel lucky.
Vikings RB Adrian Peterson at Packers — Had an underwhelming return in Week 15 and it seems like he’s going to be limited from here on out.
Cardinals QB Carson Palmer at Seahawks — He couldn’t even muster a touchdown when he played them at home, so what makes you think he can do it on the road?
