Authorities: 1 dead, 4 injured in 2-vehicle crash in Phoenix
PHOENIX (AP) — A woman has died and four other people, including three children, have been injured after two vehicles crashed in Phoenix.
Phoenix police are investigating whether speed or impairment were factors in the crash that occurred about 2 p.m. Thursday near 32nd Street and Roeser Road.
The injured were taken to trauma centers and the female driver was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say the driver had three children as passengers and veered onto a dirt shoulder.
She attempted to regain control of the vehicle and over-corrected onto the roadway.
That caused her car to collide with a vehicle driven by a man with an adult female passenger who suffered critical injuries.
Police say a 6-year-old girl was critically injured while two boys ages 4 and 1 suffered minor injuries.
