IBC seeks hurricane donations

September 9, 2017

Every time Texas is faced with a disaster like that of Hurricane Harvey, Texans band together.

International Bank of Commerce is continuing that trend, and this morning, employees will be collecting cleaning supplies from the public to donate to the affected areas.

“As you know, Texans normally come together, and they have in a huge way. So we’re asking everyone to join us, and our dropping stations are all of our branches,” said First Vice President Bertha Garza at IBC Bank Brownsville.

The corporate-wide effort is called Operation Do More.

IBC Bank will be accepting disposable gloves or work gloves, bleach, large trash bags, face masks, multipurpose cleaner, sponges, and mosquito repellant from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

IBC Bank also encourages people to donate to the American Red Cross. A link can be found on the bank’s website.

“They (residents in the affected areas) have to come back and rebuild. We’re so lucky. We can buy an item for them to drop off,” Garza said.
