Accident on North Center Avenue
Candice Marker, 57, Boswell, was stopped Tuesday at a red light on North Center Avenue in Somerset Township. Dorothy Troy, 88, Friedens, failed to stop and struck the rear of Marker’s vehicle, according to state police.
Marker and her passenger, Betty Stitely, 65, Friedens, sustained possible injuries, police said. Both women were transported by Somerset Area Ambulance to Somerset Hospital. Troy was not injured.
Everyone was wearing a seat belt, police said.
Two sustain injuries
A driver and passenger sustained minor injuries in a two-car collision Tuesday on Route 219 north of Critchfield Road in Lincoln Township, according to state police.
Marissa Vest, 19, Fairhope, was driving north and lost control of her car, which began to spin. Jesse Evans, 40, Odum, Georgia, also driving north in a pickup truck, tried to avoid Vest’s vehicle, but ended up hitting its driver side area, police said.
Vest was freed by mechanical means and transported by the Berlin ambulance to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown for a head injury, police said.
Evan’s passenger, Kelly Evans, 42, sustained a minor injury. She was not transported from the accident scene, police said.
Both vehicles were disabled. Everyone was wearing a seat belt, police said.
Someone took an automotive part from Michael John Buratty’s residence along Water Level Road in Milford Township between Friday and Monday, according to state police.
