Vermont police rule death of man as homicide
HINESBURG, Vt. (AP) — Vermont police say the man whose body was found at a trailhead in the town of Hinesburg was shot multiple times in a homicide.
Police say the body of 45-year-old David Auclair of Williston was found at the LaPlatte Headwaters Town Forest trailhead parking lot on Gilman Road late Thursday. An autopsy completed Friday by the Chief Medical Examiner’s office finds Auclair died of multiple gunshot wounds and rules the manner of death as homicide.
Auclair’s body was found near his vehicle.
Detectives are conducting interviews, reviewing available video and carrying out searches of the scene and locations connected to the victim.
Investigators do not believe there is a threat to public safety.
