Ex-ADOT employee is accused of tampering with 16 MVD files

July 15, 2019

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities say a former Arizona Department of Transportation employee has been accused of tampering with the Motor Vehicle Division files of 16 state prison inmates.

Krag Tedhams is scheduled to make his initial court appearance Aug. 15 on suspicion of computer tampering.

Authorities say Tedhams allegedly accessed the motor vehicle records of 16 inmates at the Lewis prison complex in Buckeye without their knowledge or consent between December 2018 and January 2019.

Tedhams is accused of altering one of the records by removing a driver’s license suspension code.

Phoenix radio station KTAR reports the 62-year-old Tedhams was placed on administrative leave after ADOT was notified of a possible security issue and he was fired on March 7.

It was unclear Sunday if Tedhams has a lawyer yet.
