Prep Girls Basketball: Glide loses 34-32 to Pleasant Hill in season finale

PLEASANT HILL — Glide ended its girls basketball season Saturday with a 34-32 loss to Pleasant Hill in a Mountain Valley Conference game.

Hannah Way hit a go-ahead 3-point field goal for the Billies (18-5, 7-3 MVC) with around a minute left. Victoria Lewis led Pleasant Hill with nine points.

Whitney Stone scored 10 points for the Wildcats (10-13, 2-8). Johanna Pope chipped in nine points.

Glide was whistled for 20 fouls, compared to nine for the Billies. P.H. had 18 attempts at the charity stripe and Glide two.

Glide will lose five seniors: Stone, Elicia Carlock, Kayla Reed, Allison Michel and Rachel Major.

“Unfortunately, our record doesn’t show how well we competed in league,” said Glide coach Brannon Smith. “We just couldn’t close games, but it was a great group of girls to coach.”
