Reward upped to $20K in Wilderness Resort dorm fire

May 11, 2018 GMT

Law enforcement officials have increased an award to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person who set fire to a dormitory under construction at Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells in January.

The award is a joint effort from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Wisconsin Insurance Council, Wilderness Resort, Sauk County Crime Stoppers and the Lake Delton Police Department.

The fire at the construction site of an employee dormitory at the resort caused an estimated $5 million in damage.

The fire was deemed arson, and a surveillance video image of the possible suspect has been released.

ATF’s national response team which made the arson call, joined the investigation the day after the Jan. 25 fire.

The reward money is based on if information provided to law enforcement leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire.

Anyone with information can call the ATF at 888-283-3473, email ATFTips@atf.gov or submit an anonymous tip through the ReportIt app or website.
