Grace A. Tibbie, 82, of Bradley, passed away Friday (Oct. 19, 2018) at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.
She was born May 6, 1936, in Kankakee, the daughter of Melvin and Hazel Allen Brammer. Grace married Donald Tibbie on Sept. 21, 1968, in Kankakee. He preceded her in death Nov. 10, 2006.
Grace worked for the state of Illinois and the Joliet Arsenal. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and playing bingo. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and having lunches with her circle of friends.
Surviving are her companion, Wayne Schierenbeck, of Bradley; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kimberly (Darrell) Ohrt, of Limestone, and Juanita (Gerald) Davis, of Bradley; three grandchildren, Andrea Grace (Cody) Lemenager, of Limestone, Chris (Katelynn) Ohrt, of Limestone, and Mike (Katie) Davis, of Bradley; six great-grandchildren, Harley and Kaden Davis, Caisen and Corbin Ohrt, and Cole and Maverick Lemenager; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Jean Anderson, of Limestone, Carol (Lloyd) Pastorel, of Bourbonnais, and Nancy Trepanier (Rich LeDuke), of Bradley.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one stepdaughter, Karen Tibbie; two brothers, Donald Brammer and David Brammer; and one sister, Juanita Mae Brammer.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 25, at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home in Kankakee. Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
