Akron police search for suspect in deadly shooting

AKRON, Ohio — Police are seeking a suspect in a shooting Sunday morning that left one person dead and another wounded.

Andre Warren, 27, is wanted on warrants of murder and felonious assault, according to police spokesman Rick Edwards.

Police say Warren and another unidentified male were in a silver Ford Mustang at 11:30 a.m. Sunday when they fired multiple shots into another vehicle just outside a restaurant on the 300 block of Pioneer Street.

A 31-year-old male in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old male was taken to Akron City Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds, police said.

Police did not release the names of the victims, both Akron residents.

Police say Warren, whose last known address is on the 500 block of West Exchange Street, is considered armed and dangerous. He is 5-foot-11, 225 pounds, with a beard and mustache.
