W-B Man Accused Of Taking Nude Excursion
WILKES-BARRE — A city man was arraigned Thursday on charges alleging he left his house and stood along the street while completely naked.
Michael C. Telenda, 57, of 81 Beech St., was released on unsecured bail after his arraignment on charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness.
According to the charges, a neighbor reported he had been sitting on his front porch smoking a cigarette the night of Aug. 24, 2016, when he observed Telenda walk out the front door while completely nude.
Telenda walked up to the sidewalk and edge of the road, and just stood there looking around, the charges allege.
After a few moments, a young couple came walking by, police said. The neighbor reported that Telenda looked at him, cupped his hands over his genitals and began to backpedal to the rear of his house, according to the charges.
The neighbor then overheard the couple saying, “was that really naked?” the complaint says.
According to the charges, the neighbor also told police it was not the first time Telenda has exposed himself.
Police charged Telenda with indecent exposure and open lewdness. Magisterial District Judge Ferris Peter Webby Sr. arraigned him on the charges Thursday morning and released him on $5,000 unsecured bail.
A preliminary hearing was set for July 3.
