PHOENIX (AP) _ Southern California’s Sam Clancy, the Pac-10 player of the year, has returned to Los Angeles for further medical examinations after injuring his left knee in a workout for the Phoenix Suns at America West Arena.
The 6-foot-7 forward was hurt during a one-on-one workout with Reggie Evans of Iowa on Monday. The preliminary diagnosis was a dislocated kneecap.
Clancy was one of four players in town for workouts for the Suns, who have two first-round picks in this year’s draft. The others were guard-forward Tayshaun Prince of Kentucky and forward Matt Barnes of UCLA.
