Six People Kills in Mo. Car Crash
BROOKFIELD, Mo. (AP) _ A man lost control of his car and collided with a van carrying family members returning from a graduation ceremony, killing six people, including four relatives. Two children were injured.
Authorities said Saturday’s crash in Chariton County killed the van’s driver, Terry Baker, 55; his wife, Joan Baker, 54; their daughter, Amber Entzel, 27; and Entzel’s husband, Kenneth Entzel, 22.
Amber Entzel’s two daughters, Marissa, 10, and 6-year-old Megan were taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City with serious injuries.
The driver of the car, Dustin Jay, 20, and passenger Rachel Williams, 16, also were killed.
The family was returning home from Central Missouri State University where they had attended the graduation of the Bakers’ younger daughter, Audrey.
The family was remembered Sunday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Brookfield, where they were members.
``They were just a very loving, very caring family,″ said Renata Skinner, a neighbor. ``They cared about everybody. They would do anything for anybody.″
