Winona receives funding for Voluntary Prekindergarten program; spots available for free preschool
Winona Area Public Schools recently received funding to provide a free preschool experience for up to 15 students in the 2017-18 school year. The district began offering programming in October through a partnership with Winona State University’s Children Center located at the Washington-Kosciusko school.
The free program runs Mondays through Fridays from 7:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with breakfast and busing available. To be eligible, students must have turned four by Sept. 1, 2017. Preference will be given to students who meet the age requirement and are eligible for free and reduced meals.
Interested families should contact Stephanie Gilliland, school readiness coordinator at 507-494-0915.
